Magic, why do it?

Here is my reasoning behind the use of this thing called Magic.
I practice a form called Ceremonial High Magic; it is called this for both obvious and subtle reasons.
Ceremonial refers to the technical method used while High refers to both the form of mind state you are seeking to obtain, known as the God Head, as well as the strength of Will required to attain it.
As to the question of good vs. bad Magic and this karma thing I have to add that bad Magic is typically anything that results in the deterioration of the essence of this planet and the myriad things in on and over it. This deterioration will affect you as the source as it spreads outward and thus become bad Karma.
The point behind Magic is to elevate your consciousness and personal awareness to ever higher and deeper levels. The actions of Ceremony are designed as a system of mnemonics that present a pathway for the neurological programming of your brain and body.
The result of this is an increased ability to make connections between concepts and ideas, you think quicker and more lucid. One will also tend to gravitate to a calm mind and supple body, your social interactions will carry intellectual gravity with others and you will gradually gain access and control over aspects of the mind that are considered to be Higher Functioning. You will begin to develop an ability to control even the autonomous nervous system in your body, known commonly as biofeedback.
When you enter into the God Head state of mind you will also have an awareness level that will grant you the ability to manipulate your environment and the event taking place in it per your Will. I apologize for the ramblings; however this is not a question that is easily answered.
